Company

eHydro500 was founded in 2020 by experienced experts in the field of hydropower. The initiators are Gilbert Frizberg, energy expert and former chairman of the supervisory board of Verbund AG, as well as enso GmbH, which has been managing a portfolio of 11 hydropower plant projects in Norway, Turkey, Albania and Austria for enso hydro GmbH since 2012. Together with power plants managed for third parties, 22 hydropower plants with an average annual production of 384 GWh are under management.

enso GmbH emerged from the "enso Energie-Netzwerk Südost GmbH" founded in 1999. From 2004 to 2009 it was sole ownership by the Frizberg family, who have been operating hydropower plants since 1902. During this period enso has dealt with energy and infrastructure projects in the successor states of Yugoslavia and Turkey and was able to build up a large network. The company has been operating under the name enso GmbH since 2010 and focuses exclusively on the asset management of hydropower plants and portfolios.

Since September 2020, eHydro500 has been working as an investment advisor for international investors. eHydro500 advises investors on project acquisition, due diligence, operational monitoring and debt capital structuring.

Vision & Mission

Vision

We aim at being the leading global player along the entire value chain of the hydropower asset class. We strive for leadership in the composition of sustainable portfolios and the operational excellence in investing in renewable energy sources. We are pursuing a dual goal: the positive impact - climate sustainability - on the one hand and sustainable financial returns for investors on the other.

Mission

Our mission is to further promote the sustainable expansion of hydropower. It is our deepest conviction that the asset class hydropower is an indispensable factor on the way to a climate-neutral electricity industry and water resource management. With our know-how, we support investors who want to get involved in the hydropower asset class in their search for investment properties suitable to them. On the other hand, we help project owners in the development of their projects in terms of capital, project management and operations.

As experienced professionals in hydropower, we support our customers in the search or selection as well as in the implementation and operation of their hydropower investments. We specialize in particular in hydropower plants up to 50 megawatts and have both transaction know-how for the acquisition of power plants that are already in operation as well as full project development expertise.
